Presence Suite for OCS and Lync

 

Presence Suite extends the presence capabilities of the Microsoft Unified Communications platform. It offers the integration of rich, real-time presence information with multiple business systems to optimize work allocation and workflow decisions.

 

Users and automation systems require more than just a contact’s current presence status in order to make intelligent decisions. To properly identify an individual with the appropriate resources necessary to perform a particular task, Geomant extends presence to include:

  • Skills-based resource identification/allocation
  • Geographic presence information
  • Historical presence analysis and presence forecasting  

Users view detailed presence information through an intuitive OCS / Lync client interface. Meanwhile, business applications utilize an open API to provide automated, real-time transaction routing.


Find the right person as quickly as possible - An information search can be conducted to identify an individual meeting a certain set of criteria (skill, location, availability...)  The presence suite responds, in real-time, to identify the most appropriate individual. Once identified, you can instantly initiate a conversation with that person by email, phone call, or SMS text message.

 

Geomant’s Presence Suite for OCS and Lync compiles information regarding an individual’s presence from multiple sources, including:

Components

 

Presence Repository & Reporting: Stores all the actions related to a users' presence information - facilitating real-time and historic analysis and reporting. It sets the basis for the real-time transaction and call routing functionality of the Presence Suite. It includes a portfolio of standard management reports and allows custom reports and queries to be created as required.

Presence Viewer: An enhanced Microsoft Office Communicator / Lync client interface displaying current presence information, location information and contact details. The viewer also provides a forecast of contact availability based on historic presence information - allowing meetings and calls to be scheduled with greater efficiency. Customized interfaces can be created and delivered through the Communicator / Lync client to meet specific business requirements.

 

Presence Based Intelligent Routing: Allows automated and customized routing of inbound calls, based on several factors - including caller details and recipient's presence status. Personalized routing rules can be defined for each individual in the organization.

 

Presence Aggregation: Gathers information regarding an individual's presence from multiple sources – including Microsoft Office Communicator / Lync client, Microsoft Outlook Calendar, phone systems, mobile devices, and additional integrated business applications – to provide accurate and reliable presence information for each individual. This data is then shared with other users through the Presence Viewer and with integrated business applications through an XML interface.

 

Mobile Presence: Extends the presence information in the Microsoft Office Communicator / Lync client to include geographic location. Users and systems can check both the availability and the current location of users - enabling significant improvements in business processes and increasing the productivity of mobile workforces
